چکیده

Irrigated agricultural lands are prone to salinity problems which may imperil horticultural crops by reducing growth, yield and even qualitative traits. Eco-friendly approaches such as biostimulant application in particular protein hydrolysates from vegetal origin implemented mitigate stress effects on crops. For this reason, a greenhouse experiment spinach irrigated with increasing concentrations of saline water (EC = 3 dS m?1 (EC3), 6 (EC6) 9 (EC9), addition non-saline treatment (EC0)) was organized, while plants were subjected foliar applications hydrolysate weekly basis. The helped the adverse stress, SPAD index total chlorophylls plants. Yield significantly boosted under conditions reached value obtained control (no biostimulants added) × EC0 case EC m?1. In addition, number leaves increased treatment, most importantly hydrophilic antioxidant activity spinach, thus aspect great importance also increased. Such results increase knowledge an important leafy vegetable help growers maintain high crop quality final product when no other source irrigation is available.

Residual Effects of Different Organic and Inorganic Fertilizers on Spinach ( Spinacia Oleracea L.) Plant Grown on Clay and Sandy Soils

The present study aims to residual effects of composts (plant residues, animal residues and mixed) with and without inorganic fertilizers on spinach (spinicia oleracea L.) plants and soils. The obtained results showed that the finished compost of plant residues was high in germination index (GI) and low in C/N ratio compared with the other composts. The study demonstrated that the spinach yield...

Effect of Cadmium Levels on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Spinach (Spinacia oleracea) Under Salinity Stress

Cadmium is highly toxic heavy metal. Soil factors such as pH, caution exchange capacity, CaCO3 content and salinity have a significant influence on Cd uptake by plants. Moreover, soil salinity has a great impact on crop yield in Iran. Therefore, the effect of four salt levels (0, 45, 90, 180 mM) of NaCl solutions and four concentrations (0, 15, 30, 60 ppm) of Cadmium sulfate solutions on seed g...

Antioxidant Effects of Spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) Supplementation in Hyperlipidemic Rats

Increased consumption of fresh vegetables that are high in polyphenols has been associated with a reduced risk of oxidative stress-induced disease. The present study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant effects of spinach in vitro and in vivo in hyperlipidemic rats. For measurement of in vitro antioxidant activity, spinach was subjected to hot water extraction (WE) or ethanol extraction (EE) and e...

Biochar impact on physiological and biochemical attributes of Spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) in nickel contaminated soil

Disastrous effect of nickel on spinach was discussed by number of authors but the effect of amendments like biochar with nickel on Spinacea oleraceaL. is not still discussed by any author of the world because biochar was used as soil amendments which play a vital role in reducing mobilization and uptake of nickel by spinach plants.  As nickel contaminated plants are very harmful for th...
